Our Mission

The Ollie Henderson Foundation was formed through the vision that he shared for his love of family, football, youth, and his commitment to the community he grew up in (Ida B. Wells-(Clarence) Darrow Homes).

 

The Ollie Henderson Foundation is dedicated to changing the game for Wendell Phillips Academy High School student-athletes—on the field, in the classroom, and in life. We provide monetary awards, essential school supplies, mentorship opportunities, and custom programs that meet the unique needs of our football players and recent graduates.

Our work is inspired by the life and legacy of Ollie Henderson, Class of 1973—a standout athlete, devoted mentor, and lifelong champion for Wendell Phillips students. For decades, Ollie gave his time, resources, and guidance to help young athletes reach their full potential. Today, we proudly carry that torch forward, breaking down barriers and opening doors so the next generation can dream bigger, achieve more, and give back in turn.
